TREE Foundation Executive Director and Mission Green founder, Meg Lowman, has long supported the concept, planning, and creation of the canopy walkway at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS). In 2023, she presented VINS with the inaugural Mission Green canopy walkway plaque

A Magical Experience in the Forests of Vermont

The ADA-compliant VINS walkway cost $1.7 million to design and construct. It was designed by VINS and Architect Tom Weller. Phoenix Experiential Design of North Carolina and Trumbull-Nelson of Hanover, New Hampshire were the builders.

What is a "Hot Spot"?

A “Hot Spot” is a forest habitat of high biodiversity and critical environmental importance. Unfortunately, many of these ecosystems are threatened by habitat destruction, climate change, and other factors. MISSION GREEN believes that these areas could significantly benefit from a canopy walkway conservation program.
