Meg Lowman Ph.D. | Founder, MISSION GREEN

We, as a human species, are at a critical inflection point.

Approximately 50% of our tropical rainforests have been depleted by human hands. It will take thousands (not hundreds) of years to restore these ecosystems.  We are on the verge of passing the tipping point of being able to restore them.

MISSION GREEN is a bold endeavor to promote global tree conservation, sustainable economic opportunity for local indigenous people, and continuous research and education.  The goal is to stop global deforestation and protect our planet’s biodiversity.

MISSION GREEN represents the culmination of my life’s work and passion.  It will now define my focus and contribution to science and the health of the world for the balance of my life and career!  As a scientist and a parent, I want to take a stand to ensure that the next generation will inherit a healthy world in which to live.
